About the Science Centre and Planetarium
The internationally-recognised, Science Centre and Planetarium is the largest hands-on science centre in NSW. Located at the Innovation Campus, the Centre also houses the largest planetarium in the state. With an average of 45,000 visitors per year, the Science Centre has become one of the Illawarra's leading indoor tourist attractions.
The Centre can facilitate group visits, making it an optimal venue for interactive school excursions. Educational science and planetarium shows are run at the centre within the Illawarra Coal Science Theatre, and the Planetarium. The Centre also engages with the local community through its volunteer program and its internship program for UOW students.

The Innovation Campus (iC) is a world-class, award-winning research and commercial precinct developed by the University of Wollongong (UOW) – one of Australia’s leading research and teaching universities. The iC is located just an hour south of Sydney International Airport, and close to the Wollongong CBD and the University of Wollongong’s main campus.
