30 Minute Duration
Astronomers today are exploring the universe on a grand scale. But knowing what is out there is just the first step. Putting the pieces together to unlock the mysteries of the universe is the ultimate goal. Narrated by Academy award winning actor Geoffrey Rush, discover the new astronomy being carried out under the breathtaking skies of the Australian outback. What will be learnt about our place amongst the stars?

Discover the wonders of our sun. Its incredible energy has supported life on earth for millennia, but is now threatening our technology and way of life.  Travel to the distant future to discover our sun’s connection to the universe’s cosmic cycle of life and death. Produced by Michigan University, USA. Teacher notes are also available. 

Cosmic Journey

30 Minute Duration
Take a tour of the cosmos with Astrophysicist Dr Stacey Palen. Cosmic Journey begins here on Earth and then shifts to the most distance reaches of the universe. The show features images from NASA's observatories and the Hubble Space Telescope and the Spiter Space Telescope. Cosmic Journey was created by the Ott Planetarium at Weber State University.

Oasis in Space

30 minute Duration
Take off on a startling and beautiful journey through our solar system and beyond in search of water and water worlds like Earth. Incorporating the latest results of astronomical research and exploration including data from robot explorers. Oasis in Space offers a new perspective on a substance of obvious importance to our planet. Produced Spitz, USA.


40 minute duration
"Nanocam: a trip into biodiversity” takes a microscopic look into the five kingdoms of life. Based on real electron microscope imagery, this show offers a unique, approach to biology that has never been seen like this before. Join two students as they rush to finish an assignment before heading off to the big game, but when they find the Nanocam microscope simulator online, their tedious task turns into a fascinating voyage of discovery into worlds they’d never dreamed of before. Nanocam, an El Exilio production, is a fascinating journey exploring life-forms that are invisible to the human eye and contribute to a better understanding of the world we live in.

Live Planetarium Shows

30 minute duration
As an option for group bookings, live planetarium shows may be adapted for a wide range of ages. Groups seeking an astronomy focus may have a live planetarium show adapted to their needs.

**Please note, the planetarium is not the only tool we provide for groups with an astronomy focus. Topics in the school syllabus such as "stellar evolution" may be covered using a large collection of stellar images and activities such as spectroscopy.**

Laser Concerts

30 minute duration
Explore light and colour! The laser concert features a high powered laser being used to draw sharp, colourful images and patterns to illustrate a desired selection of music. A number of laser concerts are available and feature popular movie theme songs and music from artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Prince.
